Interisland Air Services

LIAT offers daily flights to Dominica's Melville Hall Airport (DOM) from San Juan, St. Martin, Antigua and other islands.

American Eagle offers direct daily flights from San Juan to Melville Hall Airport.

Most of our guests arrive by air at Dominica's Melville Hall Airport on the island's northeast coast. Daily flights to Melville Hall are available via San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) and other international terminals, such as Antigua (ANU), St. Thomas (STT), St. Lucia (SLS) and St. Martin (SXM).

European travelers can sometimes get special airfares to our neighbouring islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe via Air France or British Airways, then take a commuter flight or ferry across the channel to Dominica.

Regional airlines such as LIAT and WinAir provide service between Dominica and most other Caribbean islands on a more-or-less reliable schedule. Some offer multiple-island discount fares that are cheaper than a single-island fare.

GROUND TRANSPORT
Taxi service is available from Melville Hall Airport to Roseau at a rate of US$18 per person via the Transinsular Road or directly to Papillote for about US$70. From Canefield Airport or Roseau, Papillote can be easily reached by taxi for about US$20 or by local bus from Roseau for about US$2.00..

Rental cars can be obtained in Roseau from several agencies. Some will arrange vehicle pickup and dropoff at Melville Hall for an additional charge.

Driving Directions to Papillote from Melville Hall Airport

The car rental agency should give you a map. You must take the road going south from the airport to the Transinsular Highway that brings you across the island to Pond Casse' (the round-a-bout), from which the fastest route would be the Imperial Road which brings you down continuing south to Roseau, the capital. Cross the bridge into the city to King George the Vth Street, which takes you East into the mountains up the Valley Road. Take the first left fork towards Trafalgar and Laudat and then the third fork to the right to Trafalgar and thence to Papillote. There are small round Papillote signs at each fork.
