The purple-throated carib (Eulampis jugularis) is the largest of four indigenous hummingbird species found at Papillote Wilderness Retreat and Tropical Gardens in Dominica. In this video the purple-throated carib is feeding on the nectar of the jade vine (Strongylodon macrobotrys).

The red-rumped agouti (Dasyprocta leporina) is endemic to the rainforests of Dominica. The agouti resembles a short-eared rabbit, but is more closely related to the guinea pig.
